This is a rare stunning classic style large size oil painting on stretched canvas of a woman in a landscape carrying firewood.  She walks towards home against a landscape with a sunset while people are still labouring in the field.  It's very moody and authentically delightful painting,  large enough to fill a wall.

Condition:  This painting has not passed through time without scars.  A wonderfully rich visual piece with scars of a renovations, craquelure and imperfections throughout.  There is a renovation patch on the back of the painting and the outline of the patch is visible on the front in certain light.  The frame has renovations throughout but it is in a sturdy condition.  The chassis for the canvas has had some woodworm but I have treated it with a 25yr treatment solution.
