Attractive floral still life, oil on wood board by re-known French artist, Ernest Gaston Amas (1869-1959).  It's on a slightly textured to the touch wood board.  Freshly picked pink wild roses clutter a blue vase.

Signed: Ernest Gaston Amas (1869-1959) A painter from Landrecies, France, portraits, landscapes, genre scenes and flowers.  He was a pupil of Gustave Moreau (1826-1898), William Bouguereau and Luc-Olivier Merson at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français from 1889 onwards, became a Salon member, received an honourable mention in 1897, and was awarded a silver medal and the Rosa Bonheur prize in 1921.  Ernest has his own museum in Landrecies and his works are exhibited in museums throughout France.  He is listed in Akoun with an average price of 2,400€ for a larger sized painting. Condition:  This painting is in good condition for the age, however, you should expect imperfections throughout.  It would do well in a frame.
