Beautiful bucolic impressionist antique French riverscape oil painting on thick board signed in the lower right-hand corner and dated on the back, August 1929.  This beautiful painting has retained its original colours well through the ages.  The capable artist has built layer upon layer of the most delightful hues to depict the 'Moulin de l'abattoir at Lemous', France (inscribed on the back).   The waters are clear and reflective on a sunny August day and the purposeful impasto thickened brush strokes, building an intensive strength of interest are a delight to the eye.
