19th Century oil on canvas painting of sheep in a manger in it's original frame by French artist Hyacinthe Florentin Lepesqueu.  This painting is signed in the bottom left corner.  It's a dark and moody rendition of sheep against a backdrop of a stormy sky.  A totally authentic painting by a recognised French female artist.

Condition:  This painting is in good condition for the age c.1875, the canvas is well stretched and there is a small renovation mid painting, craquelure throughout but entirely stable.  It's in its original gilt frame, large and heavy with missing plaster around the sides throughout and small gaps at the corners.

Hyacinthe Florentin Lepesqueur (active Entre 1870 to 1882) 

Hyacinthe was a genre painter from Rouen, a pupil of Morin and then Pils in Paris she exhibited at the Salon des Refusés in 1873 and 1874 and the Salon des Artistes Français in 1880, 1881 and 1882.  She also exhibited internationally, for example at the Philadelphia International Exhibition in 1876.
