Very authentic and completely wonderful old French Antique landscape oil painting dated 1869.   A cloudy but mostly blue sky settles over a wood or forest path, where a man sits on the remenants of a huge old tree to admire the quietness and calm of this beautiful setting.  Meanwhile, a woman crosses a small bridge and walks the path into the forest.  She leaves the light and walks towards the dark in this typically Barbizan scene French landscape.  A very calming painting, typically French, oil on wood that is smooth to the touch and framed in an antique gilt frame.

Condition: The painting is in good antique condition, expect some minor marks around the edges.  The painting has some movement within the frame which is easy to remedy.  The frame has minor imperfections throughout.  The whole comes together beautifully and makes an excellent decorative piece.
