Antique portrait painting of two woman having an art lesson by Swiss artist, Louis Patru (1871-1905).  This is an unusual painting from an artist who only enjoyed a short life.  Two woman sit during an art lesson, probably a lesson that Louis himself was attending.  Colourful deep hues of browns, blacks and burnt sienna give this painting an unexpected depth of interest, with a modern twist for the time with the graffiti on the wall.

Signed: Patru 90 (1890).  Louis Patru was an artist born in Switzerland, he died at the age of 34.  He is generally known as a painter of landscapes.
Condition:  This painting is in good condition for the age, expect minor imperfections.  The frame is plaster over wood has indentations and is renovated throughout, it is in a sturdy condition.
