Vintage impressionist oil painting on thick card of St Martin, dated on the back, 27 August 1934 and in its original frame.  The scene is the sun drenched island of St Martin, where it is likely that this artist spent his or her vacation in 1934.  Vigorous but lightly applied brushstrokes in natural hues add texture to the touch and plenty of movement in this little painting.
