Still life oil painting by French artist, Louise Alix (1888-1980), unsigned.  A competent still life with plenty of brush applied elevated colour by an accomplished and acclaimed French female artist.  A canvas board that is textured to the touch with an array of hues that would fit any interior.  The colour depth is cheerfully striking....

Signed: No but this painting is by Louise Alix (1888-1980) Born in Paris, painter, decorative artist of landscapes, still lifes and portraits.  Louise Alix studied under Yvonne Delattre and Henri Zo. She exhibited regularly at the Salon des Artistes Français between 1926 and 1941, receiving a commendation in 1928, the Bernheim de Villiers prize in 1933, and the silver medal for applied arts in 1935. She also occasionally exhibited her work at the Salon des Indépendants. (Benezit)

Condition:  This painting came from a collection in Northern France of Louise Alix's works.  It is in good condition for the age but you should expect minor imperfections throughout, in particular, the edges are untidy where the canvas has frayed slightly and therefore, it would do well in a frame of your choice.
