Antique portrait painting of a woman by French artist, Adolpe Millot (1857-1921) in a very attractive gold frame. A beautiful woman looks out at the viewer, her head covered by a large blue bonnet tied under her chin, which matches her lace edged dress.  She is painted against a landscape background and surrounded by yellow flowers, your chance to obtain a fine example from a true French master.

Signed: Adolphe Philippe Millot (1857-1921) was a French painter, lithographer and entomologist, he lived and died in Paris.

Adolphe illustrated many of the natural history sections of Petit Larousse, was the senior illustrator at Muséum national d'histoire naturelle. He was a member of the Salon des Artistes Francaise (honourable mention, 1891) and the Société entomologique de France.

Condition:  This painting is in very good condition for the age, expect minor imperfections such as faint marks around the edges of a previous framing.  The frame is newer and again, is in good vintage condition, some minor losses.
