Paul Sébilleau (1847-1907)

Paul Sébilleau was an important landscape artist in Bordeaux, very much linked to the banks of the Garonne.

In the wake of Auguin, Pradelles and Baudit, he also painted the beautiful Bay of Arcachon and

the Gironde. He liked to study the area in different seasons, to transpose the morning mists and the twilight effects.

He was part of the Bordeaux School of landscape painting, alongside Léonce Chabry, Léon Bopp Dupont, Louis Cabié, Théodore Gardère, Julien Calvé, Emile Vallet. Their works are presented each year at exhibitions organised by the Société des Amis des Arts de Bordeaux. He won a gold medal at the Colonial Exhibition of 1889.
