Alexandre Donsart was an impressionist painter, often in the Barbizon style. He was born, lived and died in Lille. Many of his paintings are in museums in the north of France. His birth date is often listed as 1890, but he must have been born way before that as one of his paintings is actually dated 1899.
He was a member of the Société d'artistes Français which was founded in 1881 by Jules Ferry and who's artist's regularly exhibited at the Grand Palais Champs Elysees.
